First time I met George I was 9 or 10. Lil was cooking french fries for Jimmy and me. Into the kitchen walks this ripped guy. He looked like a cartoon superhero to me. He opens the fridge and pulls out a couple sirloins and pops them under the broiler. Gary Nichols part 1

Con't from previous post...
They were taking care of the star!

George liked to swim in storms and the day the Fitzgerald went down me, Ifa and George were swimming at breakies unaware of the tradgedy. It was rough but fun.

George was smart, nice and humble and we managed to keep up through the years. I'm going to miss him. Gary Nichols

My sympathy to the Oikarinen Brothers,
A story of George:
One winter we were low on firewood. George showed me a safe, productive method for winter firewood collection. We played chess out in the woods. He beat me that day. Way to be George. Way to be!

Just heard of the passing of George. Although I have not seen much of him, each time I did it was like no time passed at all. We both attended MSU at the same time and saw each other only once while there. At the library. A place neither of us frequented very often. About 20 years ago he convinced me to enter the longest day tournament with my 14 footer with a 30 hp motor that barely ran. We didn’t get very far, didn’t catch any fish, got towed in but still had a blast. So sorry for your loss.
