Anthony Bean, age 79, a resident of Hancock passed away on Friday March 18, 2016 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born on August 25, 1936 to Keith and Marguerite (Cronin) Bean in Flint, Michigan.
He was a graduate of Mandeville High School with the Class of 1954.
Anthony worked as a police officer in the Flint area for 12 years, he then moved to Downey, California where he continued his career as a police officer for a few more years. After retiring from the police force, Anthony moved to the Copper Country and began working in the furnace business.
He then started in the sales sector, traveling to Guadelupe, Canada to buy snowmobiles and bring them back to the Copper Country to sell. He then entered into the advertising business, being the first one to sell coupon books in the Copper Country.
He and his wife Pat had a passion for barbeque; together they traveled to Kansas City and Dousman, Wisconsin for many different barbeque competitions.
Fishing and hunting were his favorite hobbies. One of his favorite places to fish was the Sturgeon River for walleye.
He also loved to buy and sell cars, campers, and many other items.
Anthony married his first wife Judith, and together they had three children, Mitchell, Michele, and the late Melinda.
On November 10, 1973 he married Patricia Poquette in Escanaba, Michigan and they have two daughters, Heather and Heidi.
He is preceded in death by; his parents, and his daughter Melinda.

A funeral service will be held later in the spring.
