Obituary for Norma Ann Bjorn

Norma Ann Bjorn 91 was called home to our Lord on December 6th at Canal View
where she was a resident since June 2021. She made her home in Mohawk and
Lac La Belle prior to Canal View.

Born September 17, 1931, to Werner and Anna Gummerus. With both parents
born in Finland she was always proud of her Finnish heritage.

To all that knew her, she was a unique and caring individual who touched the lives
of all that knew her.

She married Reuben Bjorn (Cree) on July 11, 1953 in Detroit then moved to the
Copper Country in 1954 a son was born.

In 1955 C&H went on strike. The family moved to Detroit where two daughters
were born. After raising their family Norma and Cree moved back to the UP in
1976, they lived in Ispheming until 1980 moving back to the Copper Country
where they resided at their camp in Lac La Belle until moving to Mohawk in 1985.

Lac La Belle and Bete Grise area always held a special place in her heart. Having a
camp in Lac La Belle since the early 1950's.

Norma was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Calumet. She loved singing in
the choir.

She enjoyed golfing, bowling and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents Warner Gummerus and Anna (Sarri)
Brothers Homer, Lauri, Robert and John. Sisters Helen, Jean, Marie and Catherine.
Her husband Reuben and Daughter Carol. Her Grand Pup Pikku

She is survived by her son Gordie (Darlene) of Mohawk, Daughter Judy Bjorn of
Mohawk. Her Grand pups Teddy, Bailey and Buddy

Many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins that she loved dearly.

The family thanks the staff at Canal View a special thank you to all the staff in the
Woodland Haven Home 1.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 10, 2022 at 3:00 PM in the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet with Pastor Jared Howard to officiate.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the funeral home on Saturday.
Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
