Obituary for Sylvia Miriam Peterson

Sylvia M. Peterson, 98, a resident of Calumet passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Mission Point of Hancock.
She was born on March 29, 1922 in Winona to Matthew and Saida (Tervo) Sarja. She attended the local schools and graduated from the Winona High School with the Class of 1940.
On November 13, 1945 she was united in marriage to Walter Hendrickson, he preceded her in death in 1964. In 1969 she was united in marriage to Eino Peterson, who preceded her in death in 1982.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Saida Sarja, 2 brothers, Uno and Eino, a baby sister, Toini, stepchildren, Gary Peterson, Alan and Dale, stillborn son, Chris, great grandchild-Isis
She was a member of the Winona Evangelical Lutheran Church, but regularly attended Bethany Lutheran Church of Mohawk and Faith Lutheran Church of Calumet with her family.
She is survived by:
Her children: Melvin (Judy) Hendrickson of Leesburg, Florida and their children Matthew (Shannon), Mark, and Michael (Dee)
Bonnie (Emil) Dyni of Ahmeek and their children Craig (Jennifer), and Christine (Nate)
Barbara Rowe of Copper City and her children Christopher, and Amanda (Michael)
Paul (Jason Bradford) Hendrickson of Ypsilanti, Michigan
Special niece: Kathy Hendrickson of Laurium, Michigan
Stepchild: Elaine (Jim) Blackburn of Twin Lakes, Michigan and their children Jeff (Yumi) and Wendy Morris, Tobin, Trisha, Drew, and Jessie

6 great grandchildren, Ethan, Colin, Allanah, Lily, Attus, and Gideon
Along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins
Visitation will take place on Monday, August 17, 2020 at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home/Siskiwit Reception Hall garden from 2:30 until 3:30. A funeral service will be held at 3:30 on Monday, August 17,2020 at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home/Siskiwit Reception Hall garden with Pastor Vorhes to officiate.
Burial will take place in the family plot in the Woodland Cemetery in Winona. Memorials can be sent to Bethany Lutheran Church and Faith Lutheran Church.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude towards the nurses and staff at the Mission Point of Hancock and Dr. Lee for the excellent care they provided to Sylvia.
