Obituary for Paul Allen Brewer

Paul A. Brewer, 77, a resident of Ishpeming passed away in the early morning on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at his home.

He was born on December 19, 1940, in Laurium to Leslie and Verna (Sembla) Brewer.

He attended Calumet High School, following high school,Paul attended Michigan Technological University to study in engineering.

Following his tenure at Michigan Tech, Paul enlisted with the United States Navy. He served in Cuba at Guantanamo Bay. He was honorably discharged in 1961.

After being discharged from the United States Navy, he began working as an electrician. Paul went on to receive his Master Electrician and Journeyman certificates. He owned and operated an electrical contracting business called Brewer Electric in Ishpeming for more than 30 years.

In 2008, Paul and his brother, Dennis, co-authored the book, “Wiring Your Digital Home for Dummies”.

Paul loved to go out hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed camping on his sister’s property out on Rice Lake.

Paul was very interested in music. He loved to listen to music, and dance. He was a very good polka dancer.

Paul was a very detail oriented and caring person. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was always there to help them out on any project that they were working on.

Paul was a member of Amvets Post 122 in Ishpeming.

He is preceded in death by an infant brother William, his parents, Leslie and Verna Brewer, his 2 brothers, Alfred and Edward, and his son, Ricky.

And numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 1:00 pm at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Laurium with Pastor Bryan Lundquist to officiate. Friends may call at the church from 12:00 until the time of the service at 1:00.

A memorial service with military honors will also be held in celebration of Paul's life at 2:00pm Saturday, June 23rd, 2018 at the AMVET Philip Petry Post No. 122 in Ishpeming, located approximately 10 miles south of Ishpeming off of County Road 581. A luncheon with family and friends will follow the services.

Burial will take place in the Lake View Cemetery.
