Obituary for Mary Helen Randa (Bolley)

Mary Helen Randa, 83, a former resident of Mohawk, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Delaware house in Portage Pointe in Hancock.

She was born on November 8, 1934 to William Bolley and Helen Tolonen. She was raised by Eino and Helen (Tolonen) Juntunen.

She attended Calumet High School and graduated with the Class of 1952.

While in high school, Mary Helen began working at Illikainen’s Store. After graduating from high school, Mary Helen began working for the Draft Board.

On August 18, 1956 she was united in marriage to her husband, William “Billy” Randa.

Following the draft board, she then began to work for the Italian Mutual Fire Insurance Company with her husband, Billy.

She then started working in the Probate Court office in Keweenaw County for 15 years for Jimmy Jaaskelainen. After retiring from Keweenaw County, she worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Mohawk.

She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church of the Keweenaw.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eino and Helen Juntunen, and William Bolley, and her husband Billy.

She is survived by:
Her daughter: Kim (Gregory) Gundlach of Mohawk
Her “adopted” son: Ron (Jen) Lahti of Mohawk
2 grandchildren: Elizabeth and William

½ brother: William Bolley of Ada, Michigan
Sister: Joanne (Martin) Fulayter of Albany, Minnesota
Her aunt: Barbara Keen
3 nieces: Michelle (Brian) Fulayter Rogers and their daughter, Danielle Rogers
Lisa Jo (Wilfred) Dick and their children; M Christian Dick, and Raven Jo Dick
Laura Ann Fulayter
And numerous cousins and friends.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 6:00 pm at the Bethany Lutheran Church of Mohawk with Pastor Tim Johnston to officiate. Friends may call at the church from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, November 21, 2017.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Portage Pointe for the excellent care that Mary Helen received during her time there.
