Obituary for Frank Louis Ucman

Frank Louis Ucman, 74, a resident of North Pewabic Street Laurium, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Calumet Public Hospital early Sunday evening following an apparent heart attack.
He was born on June 14, 1913 in Calumet a son of the late Frances & Joh Ucman. He attended the Calumet Public Schools. He later moved to Detroit and worked as a Tool & Die Maker for Briggs Corporation. He then returned to Calumet and was a self employed welder until he became the first civilian supervisor at the Calumet Air Force Base retiring in 1973 after 22 years of service. After retiring Frank occupied himself by restoring antique clocks and music boxes.
Frank was married to the former Esther Takala in Calumet.
He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Joseph & John; and w sister, Frances.

His wife, Esther;
1 son, Captain Frank L. Ucman Jr., of Huber Heights, OH;
3 daughters, Dr. Mrs. Adele (Gert) Becker of Redmond, WA; Mrs. Margaret (James) O’Farrell of San Antonio, TX; and Mrs. Esther (Edward) Voght of Obenhoff;
9 grandchildren;
1 brother, Rudolph Ucman of Calumet;
Several nephews.
Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery family plot.
