Obituary for Rosemary Vertin

Rosemary Vertin, 86, of Laurium passed away peacefully Monday September 5, 2011 at the Omega House in Houghton where she was a patient for the past 3 weeks.
She was born in the Detroit area on March 13, 1925 to Lewis and Blanche Ruelle.
She graduated from Frazier High School.
On October 22, 1949 she was married to Peter Vertin in the Sacred Heart Church in Calumet. Since that time they made their home in the Calumet-Laurium area.
Rosemary was an accomplished seamstress, which included wedding gowns made for her daughters, daughter-in-law and a granddaughter. She also did beautiful knitting and crocheting, crafts, and doll fashions. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren have enjoyed many of her creations. Her hands were always busy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter; a son, Robert ‘Bobby’; and a sister, Bea Racine.
She is survived by 4 sons and 1 daughter:
James (Phyllis) Vertin; David (Pat) Vertin; Edward Vertin; Paul (Vera) Vertin; and
Mary Ann (Art) Newman.
She is also survived by:
14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren;
1 sister, Theresa DiFilippo;
2 sisters-in-law, Catherine (Basil) Sandretto; and Violet Vertin;
1 brother-in-law, Frank Vertin;
Along with numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins.
A Mass of Christian of Burial will be celebrated on Friday September 9, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Sacred Heart Church in Calumet with the Fr. Abraham Mupparathara to officiate.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 9-11:00 AM in the Sacred Heart Church.
Burial will be at the Lake View Cemetery.
