Bruce J. Carlson, 80, a resident of Calumet passed away early Tuesday morning at the Marquette General Hospital.
He was born on August 15, 1932 in Hancock a son of the late Raymond & Gertrude (Sederholm) Carlson.
Bruce attended the local schools and graduated from Michigan Technological University with a Bachelorís Degree in Mining Engineering. He then went to work at Ingersol Rand in Pennsylvania.
Bruce was a veteran having served with the U.S. Army.
On April 5, 1985 he married the former Nancy Pelto. She preceded him in death in October of 2009.
Also preceding him in death was a brother, Raymond Carlson.
Bruce is survived by:
Son: Russell (Allie) Carlson of Bradenton, FL
Grandson: David Carlson of Yuma Valley, AZ
Brother Robert (Carol) Carlson of Calumet
An adopted daughter: Jessica Mitchell of Atlanta, GA
Granddaughter: Alicia Heikell of Calumet and her son Xavier
His wifeís daughter: Lynn Heikell of Atlanta, GA
At the request of Bruce cremation will take place.
Burial will be in the Waasa Cemetery.
The Erickson Crowley Funeral Home in Calumet is assisting the family with the arrangements.
