Lorraine Ann  Moyle
Lorraine Ann Moyle, 83, a former resident of Calumet, Lake Linden, and The Bluffs passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 17, 2017 at Portage Point, her current home.
Lorraine was born to George and Annie Fountaine on April 28, 1934 at home in Tamarack.
She graduated from Dollar Bay School.
She was united in marriage to Thomas J. Moyle Sr. on June 12, 1956. They raised eight children together. They met while she was working at the Spanish Shop in Lake Linden. She also worked cooking for Head Start, Lake Linden School, and managed the books for her husband’s masonry business. She was known for her homemade meals and bakery.
She spent many years as a loving, devoted mom. Who was very involved with her children’s lives including leading 4H and 5H, and helping to establish the Houghton County Fair where she served on the board.
She was a wonderful, mother, grandma, and great-grandma, who enjoyed cooking, baking, quilting, basket making, painting, puzzles, knitting, sewing, cross country skiing, snowmobile racing, fishing, arranging flowers, gardening, bingo, and sweets. She loved babies best of all. She was always one to speak her mind, and was generous, forever giving away everything she made. She was regal and always sat at the head of the table. She was devoted to her faith and found solace in her prayers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Moyle Sr., her grandson Jeff Moyle, her parents, and her brothers and sisters Gordy, Larry, Earl, Kenny, Dorothy, and Evelyn.
She is survived by her children: Don (Melanie) Moyle, Tom (Denise) Moyle Jr., Debra (Bill) Heide, Sandy (Louis) Meneguzzo, Gail (Bob) Anthony, June (Michael) Wilhelm, John Paul (Maggie) Moyle, Kevin (Judy) Moyle; her sisters Elaine Aalto and Shirley (Pete) Locatelli; her grandchildren: Melissa (Larye), Chris, Brian, Gary (Amy), Andy (Jenn), Jen (Brad), Joe, Jill (Mike), Becky (Rick), Jason (Misty), Nick (Elizabeth), Greg (Robin), Ross (Lucy), Ryan, Sarah (Michael), John, Matthew, Adam (Rachael), Laura, Erin (Dan), Mason, Carli, and Granddaughter in Love, Kim; and 25 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, extended family, and many friends.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Church in Lake Linden with Father John Martignon and Father Joseph Boakye Yiadom to officiate. A luncheon will follow in the St. Joseph Church Hall.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Erickson Crowley Funeral Home, with rosary and family remarks to begin at 7:45.
Burial will take place at the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lake Linden.
The Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet is assisting the family with arrangements.
