Kurt Roger Abramson, 58, of Calumet, passed away on Sunday April 26, at his home on Rockland Street, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on August 12, 1956, to his parents Raymond and Elsie (Muotka) Abramson, in Laurium. He attended Calumet High School, and he graduated in 1974.
After graduation he worked for Rowe Moving, in Calumet for several years. He then went on to work at Michigan Technological University as a Telecommunications Supervisor; He worked there until his retirement in 2011.
On September 20, 1980 he married his wife, Susan Curtis, of Copper City.
Kurt enjoyed woodworking, mechanics, and was a “Mr. Fix-it”; there was nothing he couldn’t fix. He also, loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, two brothers, Brian and Richard, and father-in-law Fortunate Curtis.
He is survived by:
His wife of 34 years, Susan
Three sons: Kurt (Liz) Abramson of Iron River; John (Denise) Abramson of Marquette; and Brian (Sarah) Abramson of Calumet
Ten grandchildren: Emily, Adeline, David, Cole, Zander, Landen, Easton, Madilyn, Lily, and Layla
Three sisters: Jackie (Pete) Mace of Cedar Bay; Sandy (Cukie) Coppo of Calumet; and Debbie Rowe of Richmond, VA
Uncle: Arnold Muotka of Nevada
Mother-in-law: Nathaleen Curtis of Lac La Belle
And several nieces and nephews
A visitation will be held on Friday May 1st, at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home from 4:00 until 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday May 2, 2015 at the funeral home at 11:00 am, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Bob White will officiate.
Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
